Celsius 232—Avilés’ annual horror, fantasy, and science fiction festival—was marked by Brandon Sanderson’s visit. The streets of Avilés were packed with people from early Tuesday morning, to the point that it was difficult to attend the talks that took place throughout the week.
However, as every year, it has been a very fun and super inspiring few days surrounded by all my friends ✌️
Also, since I was waiting for several projects to get off the ground, I found time to draw for myself! I painted an elven princess with her dragon in a magical landscape.

Of the talks I attended, I’d highlight my friend Javier Prado’s “I Have Friends in Hell,” which was equally interesting and entertaining—a 10/10, as is typical of his presentations. I also enjoyed the talk on “Stories from Orkheim,” the book by Leovixildo M. López, presented by Covadonga Ballestero of Akelarre Ediciones.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marina Vidal, Aitana from Voces de lo Insólito, and Rocío, Carol, and Irene from the Territorio de Brujas de Lectoras podcast in person (we still need to get coffee together for your next visit to Avilés!). My friends Manuela (@gloomydoodle) and María (@lamissalien) also paid me a visit. And, as always, it was a pleasure to see the fantastic Almudena and Rebeca from Duermevela there ♥

This year I experienced it more as an assistant than as an illustrator, but as always it was so worthwhile seeing so many familiar faces and dear friends. See you again next year!
